Our words carry far more creative power and significance than we realize.
With our hearts/lips/mouths, we constantly fashion our world and influence our circumstances for good or evil. We are either continually empowering/hindering the angels God has given to us whom the bible tells us “Act on His words” Psa 103:20 or we are arming demons and satanic forces focussed on stealing, killing and destroying our testimony. Sadly in the mouths of many believers, satan finds his best ammunition…

The bible introduces us to God who created us in His image (as a speaking spirit) in Gen 1. He had made the earth for habitation Isa 45:18; But at the point He came to advance His agenda, He met the earth Void and formless Gen 1:1. His refusal to accept neither hindrance nor frustration set a divine template for us to follow after. His spirit moved and He spoke! and continued speaking until the 7th day.

Some months ago whilst leading a prayer meeting, the Holy Spirit was inspiring prayer points to my heart. At a point He impressed upon my heart clearly the need for us to

‘ask the Lord to root up any evil seeds, plants and fruits which we have sown with our lips and are working against you‘.

As we prayed, my eyes were opened and i was shown a clear scenario which was playing out in the spiritual realm.
I was shown a long wall which (which i understood to be an aspect of my life). It was progressively being covered by wall climbing thorns and thistles. The cumulative effect of this was that the beauty and the glory of the wall was being covered up.

Suddenly I beheld a man in what i can only describe as glistening white light who appeared and moved towards the wall with an intent to root up and clear up the bushes. As He drew close to it, someone else stepped into the scene partially blocking the way. (I understood this to be the devil). Zechariah 3:1 might best encapsulate the stance the enemy adopted in this situation.
The devil stated very assuredly to the man in white as 1 defending his position before a judge:

“I did not introduce anything into this equation, I have simply worked with the seeds which proceeded forth from His mouth’’.

The man in white turned to me and stated

“Pray the Lord for mercy, and Ask for the atonement that is in the blood of Jesus’’.

Once the blood of Jesus was plead, the hindrance of the enemy to the rooting up was taking away and subsequently done. (How little we christians appreciate the scope of what Christ’s blood won and is winning for us..may His name be praised forever).
I began to rejoice and celebrate. But the man in white turned again to me and stated:

‘This isn’t the end of the matter. In life there can be no vacuum. Your negative utterances provided opportunity for this satanic resistance in your life. Now however it cannot be left barren. In place of death you must speak forth life’.

He pointed to a physical plot of land to my right which was full of weeds and tall grass.
He stated:

‘Look at this land. When you purchase a plot of land, and leave it for a time to return to it later. Could you ever return to it and meet yam, pawpaw or cashew ready for harvest?
To which I answered ‘No’.
He continued: ‘instead what you will meet by default are such weeds and thorns’.

I asked Him promptly: ‘Why is this so’?
He continued:

‘Because the earth is corrupt. Same thing with the flesh.
Their default tendency is to bring forth evil unprofitable fruit.
To get anything profitable and beneficial from that land, you will have to expend deliberate effort in clearing the land, tilling the ground and sowing the seeds for the fruits you want to harvest in future. So also it is with life. You must make a deliberate effort to receive the word of God as a seed, agree with it in faith and continuously speak it in faith over your land’.

Later that evening just to confirm everything, a fellow disciple in the Lord delivered 2 prophetic instructions from the Lord unto me which she had recieved sometime before.

  1. In Gen 3:1 God spoke light into the situation of darkness He was confronted with,
    Learn the habit of spesking light into every situation of darkness which confront you.
  2. Know that you have my ear. Just as in Numbers 14:28, What you speak into my
    hearing I will do to you.

So many of us are entrapped by the negative confessions and careless words we speak or have spoken in times past. Even worse, many are still entrapped by the negative words
parents and people in authority in times past have spoken over them.

Let 2019 be a year we choose to actively engage the power of our tongues in faith to speak life into our lives and those of others and light into every of our situations.
We would be wise to ask the Lord for the grace to restrain our lips from speaking un-profitable words, and we must seek to steep ourselves faithfully in the word and speak in accordance with that word in faith even as we walk in obedience to God.

One practical tip: 
Take a Rhema word from the scripture that ministers to your life/situation. Print it out in bold typeface and stick it up somewhere in your room where its the 1st thing you see and the last thing you see when you turn in.
Jeremiah 29:11 once saved my life like this.

May the mercy and the grace of the Lord abound toward us in this regard all through this year and beyond in Jesus name.
