The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 kjv

If you cannot control your anger, you are as helpless as a city without walls, open to attack. Proverbs 25:28 GNT

Choleric temperaments pay particular attention!!

You know how you generally try to compose yourself and stay calm and unflustered. But then there’s that one specific person who exposes your vulnerability and easily gets under your skin (we all have 1 🙂 at the office?, at home?, in your family?). Though in truth, any vulnerable person around you can be used at any convenient point in time just as Peter was used for Jesus in Matt 16:22-23. But there will be “regular customers” 🙂

Sometime back, I had this supernatural experience right in the middle of an explosive argument with that one person. In the heat of the moment i catch a glimpse of movement to my right. Turning to look, Jesus walks into the room and stares directly at me…! (p.s He didn’t use the door, it was surreal!!)

Below is a synopsis of my conversation with Jesus in that moment:

Jesus“Are you still without understanding?”
[He was giving me this serious teacher – student look with a slightly disappointed tone]
Me[Feeling as naked as Adam i responded rather hastily……]
Lord, i didn’t start this, it really isn’t my fault! He just came in here totally out of control”…”i am only defending myself”
Jesus[ignoring my response, He gestures towards the other side of the room] ……..“Who’s that over there?”
Me[I look over and to my great surprise i see an open door to my left to which someone had gained access and was actively looting treasures stored within].
“It’s a thief Lord!!”
Jesus“What are you looking forward to this week?”
Me“It’s a week of harvest, i’m expecting payments for work done for some clients this season”
JesusThis…… my servant is a classic case of ‘misdirection.”
He (gesturing toward the thief) knew that if he had approached you directly you would have sussed him out, so he went over to this one (gesturing at my antagonist) and stirs him up – knowing how easy he gets under your skin. Of course, he being immature comes down in a rage [like someone whose buttons have been pressed] and starts a feud over what he can’t even remember”.
..”If you ask him now, he has no clue why he is actually angry”.

Jesus‘Gird thy loins’

The Aftermath:

Till this day i cannot explain to you how it happened: yet it was more real than the physical reality in which the argument was happening all in a moment of time.

The monday following this experience, every single payment i was scheduled to receive suffered great delays and postponement. They all seemed to have valid reasons, but i knew what had really transpired.

I have tried to keep the lessons in my heart, yet since this incident i have still fallen into the same trap of provocation on 3 other notable occasions.
In two of these: something was fired into me that led to physical illness.
On the other occasion i lost something: some kind of virtue i cannot fully articulate but i felt it the moment it leaked out. I’m still praying to recover it.

Why share this now?

Recent revelations indicate the heightened operations of demonic entities
[which is not unusual just before the start of a new season filled with divine blessings] and though their operations may take many different forms of temptations [tailored to our individual weaknesses], for some of us it will manifest in the form of provocations targeted at bringing down our defences [by causing us to lose control]. For others it might come in the form of manipulation, whilst for others it would be outright enticement.

Do you know your unresolved weak points that the enemy has been using as a secret door to rob you blind?

Key Takeaways

  • Jesus is for us and in Him we have ultimate victory. Yet he expects us to grow in maturity and be the ones spoiling the territory of satan not being satan’s hapless victims.
  • You have an adversary stalking you to steal your divine blessings and displace you from your place of peace [your receptive posture]. 1 Pe 5:8
  • A good exercise to emulate is to extend your spiritual radar when you are confronted with certain provocations or sweet offers in order to detect any hidden actors & motives….(Jesus often did this Matt 9:4)
  • Satan is not behind every curtain and provocation, yet it pays to remember the scriptures “let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;” James 1:19
  • Every character weakness which has not been wholly submitted to the Holy Spirit for His dealings represents a point of leakage which will become an open door to the thief. James 4:7

Let us be extra watchful this season!
Grace and Blessings Brethren…
