Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Intercession is such a powerful tool and very dear to the heart of Christ.

I had been interceding for one of our mothers in Christ who had been hit with a a very bad illness and was having a very terrible time of it. After about 2 years of standing continually in the gap for her, she had recovered about 90% of her health, was back on her feet but not fully 100%. One day in prayer I asked the Lord out of frustration “Lord, why hasn’t she come to complete wholeness? i have seen you give total recovery to many in far less time. I’m tired of this, for it feels hopeless to continue”

After prayer i had this extremely vivid dream:

I am walking through the grounds of a mostly glass house with Jesus arrayed in white robes and light. He is to my right side a step ahead of me. As we walk through the grounds we can see through the different rooms and chambers all bathe with ‘sunlight’? We see different clusters of people spread across the different floors all arrayed in white holding different discussions. Overall there was a very beautiful calming ambience which emanated peace and teeming with life.

Then we progress to a room with a sealed door. There was no handle on the outside: it could only be opened from within. The door seemed old and unused in contrast to the rest of the building. I’m standing outside the door by the Lord wondering how we can get in? when suddenly He moves and were inside!

Inside this locked room was quite dark and musty. The light from Him was the only source of light in the space. There was nowhere to stand in the room as the entire floor was covered with many storage boxes sealed and covered with sheets. There was soo much dust and cobwebs everywhere!. It was very obvious that this space was for storage and has laid untouched for a very long time,

Suddenly i notice movement in the room: Lizards, Geckos, different manner of creeping things. Out of one shadow popped out a 3 headed snake! The sight of it was so horrid and gross – i instantly snapped up in bed! Only then did i realise i was actually in a dream!

So concerned i begin to query the Lord as to what just happened and what this was all about:
This is a summary of His response:–

  • You just went on a tour of her mind/heart.
  • The clusters of people arrayed in white represents her pre-occupation and meditation on Kingdom matters. The aspects of her life thinking on the things that are Just / True / lovely / of good report / of virtue as Philippians 4:8 instructs
  • Every aspect of the house bathe in light and teeming with Life and Serenity represent all the areas I have been granted access to work in her heart. Healing, Soothing. Cleansing. Imparting.
  • That room that was sealed, is the one area of her life that is still restricted to me. It is the deepest part of her heart where the effects of trauma have been deeply buried untouched.
  • The boxes are records of individual incidents where she has suffered at the hands of others and has not been able to let go. (Her ex Husband in particular and all the trauma associated with the broken marriage)
  • The room was dark because bitterness has take root in this part of her life, and with every dark and hidden place the habitations of cruelty festers. Psalm 74:20
  • The creeping things and serpent that presented themselves in that room represent that one area of her life where the activities of the demonic still find expression unabated
  • As long as she refuses to open that door to me, she will NOT be able to come to complete WHOLENESS.
  • It is my desire to see her made whole, but she must willingly choose to let go of the offences and open the door for light to come in. Failing that she will never come to total rest and soundness.
  • The best you can do is to keep asking for the strength for her to unlock that room in order that I may come in and complete my work.

Christ’s will is always to bring us to the place of ‘wholeness’ in order that we may enjoy the fullness of Life that He came to deliver to us. Whatever areas of pain and trauma that have been buried so deep in the subconscious and conscious chambers of our hearts, It is in our best and total interest to utterly surrender and let go unto the Lord! This might also mean letting go of the need for vengeance, and in some cases being prepared to face up to our own sin where it may be highlighted. Failure to open these doors may result in generational repercussions of the negative kind.

Our Lord Jesus is in the business of recovery! Not only is He abundantly able, He is willing and eager to do it in our lives. Yet there are aspect of this work that will require our ‘consent’ ‘free will choice’ if we are to access the full benefit of His grace.

Prayer:-
May the axe of the Lord cut down and root up and unfruitful tree of trauma and bitterness that has taken hold in any areas of our life Matt 3:10. May His light and the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit come rushing in to cleanse, to purge and to refresh us. May we agree to be set free from every form of emotional, psychological and spiritual bondage finding expression in our lives. May we begin to walk in the full experience of total healing and redemption – nothing holding us back. Finally may we also become able instruments in His hands like the good Samaritan.
