Stones of Victory: The Kingdom, Power & Glory

“And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.”

Bible Reading: – 1 Kings 17

Picking the 5 smooth stones was a deliberate and well considered action. Every job has the right tools fit for its execution; Just so every giant that exalts itself against the knowledge of God has the right stone meet for its destruction; that the Kingdom may be manifest without obstruction.

Christ in us is the stone! Yet in our raw state we blunt the force/impact of Christ’s life and hinder the full manifestation of the Kingdom through us.

As a stone in God’s hand, you must agree to be smooth! For any baggage [mud/ruts/sand] that encases you [inner man] has the dual effect of:

1. Blunting the force of Christ’s life through you and diminishing your kingdom impact
2. Reducing your Speed & Accuracy in hitting the mark of the high calling.

God is a Stone Mason

It is not only God’s wish to give you the Kingdom ^{Lk 12:32}, but also to showcase the Kingdom through you. So He has to get to work in making you fit for the purpose for which He has foreordained you to live in this age! ^{Acts 17:26}

He goes about this work in your life through 3 concurrent ways:

1. The Chisel of Divine Dealings.
2. The Blending in the Quarry [Relational]
3. The Polishing in the Brook.

The Chisel of Divine Dealings

• For those outside God’s kingdom, He sovereignly knits together situations and events targeted at bringing you to receive Jesus as Christ of your life
• For those inside God’s Kingdom, He crafts and customises dealings targeted at increasing the life & stature of Christ in us even as He reduces our self-life until it no longer poses a threat to His purpose!
• His dealings are neither hard nor soft-they are individually measured! ^{Ps 103:14} How hard or softly it impacts us will be directly correlated to how ‘yielded’ we are to His perfect will. ^{Ps 32:8-9}.
• The ‘woes’ which so often plague our lives are most often a direct product of our ‘striving’ & ‘quarrelling’ with our maker! ^{Isa 45:9}
• His hands are deft and His blows are conforming! He knows exactly where to touch us, how to touch us, and when to touch us…until we are as smooth as He requires us to be.

The Blending in the Quarry [Relational]

• We have discussed at great lengths the purposeful hand of God in our lives through relational dynamics in ‘we have a little sister’ and ‘prepping for distinction’
• Suffice it to say: God does not conform us in a vacuum. He masterfully uses our relationships at work, at home, at school, in church, and in our concentric circles to grind our hard jagged edges unto smoothness.
• Most time’s, people knocking against us: be it husbands, fathers, stepmothers, mothers-in-law, supervisors at work, teachers in school, fellow believers and even our enemies, have a role to play in conforming us to that image of Christ the smooth stone! They are preparing you to confront the Goliath of your destiny! Ask Joseph!

The Polishing in the Brook

• God will fix you in a space in the body of Christ where the streams & rivers of life continually flow. The waters will wash and continually refresh and polish you.
• When God places you in the space He has reserved for you, the effect will be as the pool of Siloam ^{John 9:7} which flows consistently with revelation-truth-power.
• When you erroneously place yourself, you will land by the pool of Bethesda ^{John 5:2-4} where many sick/halt/lame lay waiting for the stirring of the pool from time to time by anointed men of God who pass by circumstantially. Until then you will be entertained by comedians from the pulpit and your attempt to bring down any giant will be met with laughter & derision!.
• It better for you to be a David in a cave like church with few comforts; but where you’re fed & trained to confront lions & bears than to be in ‘swag’ churches with gold pulpits where you are limited from dipping your rod into the honeycomb ^{1 Sam 14:27} that can brighten your eyes! (as it is reserved only for the pastor to maintain his relevance).

Conclusion

Three facets of your life are crucial to manifesting the Kingdom of God in power and showcasing His glory in your generation: *Your Character * Your Anointing * Your Revelation.

God’s quarry positioned along the brook in the way offers you the only sure ground where you can be properly shaped into a smooth stone; bearing sufficient power + speed + accuracy needed to fell the giants in your promised land and generation.
