Bible Reading: Luke 1:62-63, Luke 24:13-35

When destiny shaping decisions had to be made, Zacharias didn’t need to guess! He simply had to lean into His Spirit and draw out the answer!

Because you are seated in Christ, your spirit is seated in The Answer! Because you’re in the answer, you never have to be clueless or confused about major decisions again!

When destiny shaping decisions had to be made, Zacharias didn’t need to guess! He simply had to lean into His Spirit (the seat of dwelling) and :-

  • speak what he had heard the Spirit say
  • write what he had been shown already.
  • make known what had been made known to Him [knowing]

Life should not be guess work!. God has not left us clueless. He has given us His word [logos] and sent us the Holy Spirit, by whom we have access to The Answer Himself.

When we stay attuned to the Holy Spirit and filled with the word, living becomes as certain as drawing out the impressions stamped upon our Soul as were seated in Christ who is the answer!. 

"But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things". 1 John 2:20

Where do we miss it?

“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭2‬:‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Abiding [remaining current in the word and spirit] helps us to stay rooted and seated in Christ: where we get continuously led, fed and informed. Where our Spirit is always ‘in the know’ because we are in the fountain of Life and it is by His light we ‘see’ light [stay knowing] Psalm 36:9.

Any degree of turning away from the Lord [grace] into our own strength [the law]; any turning away from the place of mediation [our eyes stayed on Him] causes us to lose our peace and automatically introduces the veil that restrains our revelation!!!!

In Luke 24:13-35,the two disciples on the road to Emmaus [Clopas and Cleopas] were treading the familiar road but had lost their bearing!! They had facts and opinions but had no revelation in that hour because they had shifted from the place of abiding. Anytime we shift from abiding in the word, our hearts become ‘downcast’ like theirs,. We have the facts but we lose our bearing! We engage in exploratory discussions but wisdom is far from us.

“And while they were conversing and discussing together, Jesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them. But their eyes were held, so that they did not recognize Him.”

The resultant effect of shifting from the word is that our revelation suffers ‘restraint’ and were held back from the place of knowing! Our minds [souls] cannot make sufficient connection with our Spirit where the answer already resides.
note:- anxiety, fear, placing our trust in man; runs signal interference between our Spirit and our Soul

How do we recover?

  1. We let Jesus catch up with us…[in our heart pondering’s and mind wandering’s]
  2. We let Him take us off the street of human opinions and reasonings and lead us back into the hidden place of the heart where we partake of the bread of Life [the word of God]
  3. We continue to wait on Him…rest assured in the fact that His thoughts towards us are always of good and not of evil, to give us a future and a hope and to bring us to an expected end!. Jer 29:11

How will I know I am back in alignment?

  1. The place of abiding is marked by Peace.
    Peace will be restored to our hearts. Consequently fear and anxiety will be put away as Hope is restored.
  2. Heartburn! Lk 24:32
    As we continue to abide, our hearts will be ignited and begin to ‘burn’ again.
    This is not something that words can describe, you know it. When it goes out you know. When it returns you know.
  3. You will reach for the writing tablet!
    here’s an automatic response that is generated like the gentle overflow of the river of life. For some that writing tablet is literally in journaling the answers! For some it is in overflowing with spiritual songs, psalms and hymns. For some it is in the place of intercession. Ultimately you become elevated strictly above your personal concerns and you begin to richly bless others!

So i don’t need others?

You will always need others. But for jey personal destiny defining decisions, you will not need them to get direction – but any input from them will be one of confirmation! confirming the notes already registered in your spirit.

Conclusion

I want to conclude this simple word with a baffling question…

What is it about my flesh that would rather travel 10.000km to emmaus, pay 000’s in currency, that would rather ask 30 different people for their opinions? that would rather enter the strangest places and engage in the strangest acts? that would even consider condemning God as uncaring and unfaithful? instead of doing the simplest and most readily available thing:- getting quiet – opening the word and asking the Holy Spirit for help?
