“a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man” 1 Cor 11:7 esv

As Christian men we are called to model Christ. 1 Cor 11;7 says we are the image and glory of God. This has implications across all aspects of our lives; as husbands, fathers, leaders.

Prayer 1: Imaging Christ as a Husband

 “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior.” Eph 5:23

  • Lord; Help me model more perfectly the headship of Christ as Provider in my home.
    Let divine favour cause open doors for untome overflow. my expectations will not be cut short.
  • Lord; help me model more perfectly the headship of Christ as Priest in my home.
    Restore my priestly garments and turban, help my altar burn with the flame of your Spirit.
  • Lord; Help me model more perfectly the headship of Christ as Prophet in my home.
    Let my ears, sight and heart be attuned to hear, see & do as Christ does and the Spirit leads.
  • Heavenly Father, i repent of any of my actions/inactions which have marred the image of God and corrupted the testimony of Christ’s headship in my home. Please bring healing, recovery and soundness, to the wounds, bruises and sores i may have inflicted on the wife of my youth. mal 2:14
  • This year I will showcase the glory and image of God as He intended for me as a husband. His wisdom, understanding, and love will be my reins as i image Christ as Husband..

Prayer 2: Imaging Christ as a Father

“And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.” Gen 38:18

  • Lord Jesus; This year, help me model the fatherhood of Yahweh to my children in an exemplary way. Let their understanding of God as Father be correctly calibrated through their observation and engagements with me. Let them see the Love, Power, Justice, Mercy and Wisdom of God that theyve been taught, modelled properly in me.
  • Lord Jesus; this year, cause every trauma, stronghold and wickedness that is usually transferred generationally via wrong mindsets and practices in my lineage to end completely. I will walk in the fullness of liberty in Christ, and my children will walk in total liberty and in the new covenant inheritance that is incorruptible.
  • The oil of Priesthood shall flow down from my head and continually anoint my children; The unction of the Prophetic upon me shall continually bring alignment in their paths, and the scepter of Kingship shall enthrone and empower them above the portends of the enemy.
  • This year i shall stand as a father to the fatherless and bring corrective applications through the deployment of resources, intercessions and interactive love to orphans in my space. Heavenly Father pass through my endeavours to minister your love and grace unto them.

Prayer 3: Imaging Christ in my Community

“How you have helped him who has no power! How you have saved the arm that has no strength! How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge! With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you?” job 26:2-4

  • Heavenly Father, by your grace i will model Christ more accurately in my marketplace. The testimony of Jesus in me will be to the profit of him without power, him whose arm has no strength. I will utter words and counsel through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to the glory of your name.
  • Heavenly Father, in your mercy crown my pursuits in this year with overflowing evidence of ‘thy Kingdom come’ 1 Cor 4:20-21
  • Heavenly Father, i raise a voice of intercession for men in my community; may they come to know you through Christ; may all the men who have taken a beaten in their wilderness experiences (economically, spiritually, socially, maritally) encounter you as Moses encountered the burning bush. May this year presentcthem with another chance to take root downward that they may bear fruit upward again.
  • Heavenly Father – thank you for giving me another opportunity to live out another year to the glory of your name. By the help of the Holy Spirit i declare that i shall not betray the heavenly vision this year! Acts 26:19
